Position Opening – Training Manager
Duties: General: Position is to support the operations of the Sitech business by obtaining and transferring knowledge of Trimble Earthworks, Grade Control, Site Controller hardware and software, including Business Center set up and basic usage. Transferring a working knowledge of earthmoving and grading equipment that incorporate Trimble products to customers and staff is incased in this position. The transfer of the knowledge will be through site evaluations, site setups incorporating the products in the earthmoving process, and holding training events for customers that have purchased new systems and by training operators, grade checkers, and Business Center users both in the field and in the Sitech Pacific Training area.
Specific: In addition to the general knowledge, the support person will have the opportunity to specialize in a specific area of advanced knowledge to support customers. This includes but is not limited to advanced Business Center use, networking data radio information, machine application, or advanced grade-checking techniques.
Skills and Competencies: Skills for support role include some exposure and expertise in:
- Trimble Earthworks
- SCS 900 software
- GCS 900/AccuGrade
- Cat Grade Control
- Trimble Business Center and other Trimble Construction office products.
- Good mechanical and technical abilities
- Good Communication skills for training customers and staff
- Relationship Management of the OEM Dealers and Customer organizations
- Ability to continuously learn new technologies
- Teamwork and interpersonal skills for communication and problem solving
- Scheduling and prioritizing time and resources
Relationships: Must be self-motivated to perform time-management and task prioritization when necessary. They will report to the Product Support Manager. The PSM will assign upcoming work order tasks, training events, and tasks for supporting the service organization in advance whenever possible. The Product Support manager reports to the Sitech General Manager.

Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee could on occasion be exposed to moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals, and outside weather conditions. The employee could be on occasion exposed to high, precarious places and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Jobsites are inherently dangerous and must always be entered with caution. PPE must always be worn at these sites. All MASHA and OSHA rules must be followed.
Travel Requirements: There is some travel required with overnight stays. This includes visits to customer locations, dealer offices, and meetings.
Training: Training in this position would be a combination of the following:
- On the job training with the aid of a mentor
- Online training form the Trimble Library
- Classroom training as scheduled
- Trimble Boot Camps
Summary / Expectations: This position is considered a professional position. We would expect a self-starter with desire to succeed as a leader. GPS aided machine control for the construction environment is our business and the promotion is an integral part of this position. This position will require an aptitude for both technical, teaching, and mechanical skills.
Compensation: The salary range for this Sitech Support role is commemorating on experience in the field. Benefits this position includes a company vehicle. It can include incentives for additional training sales generated by Support’s relationship with customers or dealers. Some travel required
